Flag Description

Three equal horizontal bands of blue, one band of white with five blue five-pointed stars arranged in an X pattern centered in the white band; the stars represent the five members of the former Federal Republic of Central America.  These nations are:  Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.  It is also said that the two blue bands symbolize the two great oceans that border Honduras.  To the north, the Atlantic Ocean (the Caribbean), and to the south, the Pacific Ocean.  The white band speaks of purity.
